Product Information

Baytril(R) Taste Tabs(R) are a broad spectrum antibiotic effective in treatment of susceptible bacterial infections. Baytril(R) offers a palatable, flavored tablet that helps to ensure the patient receives the prescribed course of therapy. Each tablet contains 22.7 mg of enrofloxacin.

Baytril(R) is used to treat urinary tract, skin, prostate, GI tract, liver, and lung infections.

Active Ingredients:

Side effects: may include vomiting, diarrhea, and reduced appetite, stomach upset and possible thirst. If these symptoms persist and appear troublesome, contact your veterinarian.

This medication should not be administered to young animals since it may damage cartilage. A dose greater than 5 mg/kg per day in cats may cause damage to the eyes. Notify your veterinarian immediately if your cat's pupils are dilated, since this may be an early indicator of toxicity.Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.UsageBaytril(R) Taste Tabs(R) should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian.

Cautions

Baytril(R) Taste Tabs(R) are contraindicated in dogs and cats known to be hypersensitive to quinolones. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.

The following drugs can potentially interact with enrofloxacin: antacids, sucralfate, nitrofurantoin, cyclosporine, theophylline, and probenecid. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Inform your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic.

Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
